REUSE AND REDUCE WITH CONTAINER REFILL SERVICE

Riverdale Color offers the plastics industry the first environmentally friendly system for customers who purchase color for their plastic process molding and extrusion operations. The Riverdale Color refill system eliminates unnecessary color packaging products from your waste stream, reduces trash going to local landfills, and lowers your disposal costs. Other companies deliver pelletized concentrates, liquid color, and powders in non-reusable containers. Concentrate arrives in barrels or Gaylord boxes, on heavy wood pallets. Liquid color from other sources arrives in plastic drums, pails, or other plastic containers, on pallets, all of which are sent off to the landfill after you have used the product. These packaging and shipping methods typically generate over 75 pounds of waste that is difficult and costly to dispose of. Our refill system allows you to return containers to us for REFILL. When you reorder the same color, drums and pails are reused, cutting costs for you and reducing needless packaging waste.

NO PRODUCT WASTE OR CONTAMINATION

Because we refill your containers, the few pounds of liquid color that remain in the drums are not lost. When a drum is refilled, the remaining color is fully blended into the new color. Containers are always sealed to assure there is no contamination.

STATE-OF-THE-ART METERING TECHNOLOGY

The unique Pump-in-a-Drum® liquid metering system is clean and remains clean. All components are sealed. You never touch the color.

SEALED DRUMS

Drums are sealed and should not be opened. This permanent seal prevents costly spills and ensures that the liquid color is never contaminated with debris or outside materials.

SEALED DELIVERY TUBES

Sealed delivery tubes guarantee clean, quick disconnects to prevent spillage when changing out drums. The liquid exits the pump through a hydraulic disconnect which provides a positive shutoff when the tube is removed. The delivery tube is also equipped with positive shutoff quick connects from the pump to the throat of your process machine on both ends.

SEALED INJECTION TUBES

At the throat, a 3/4 inch thick adaptor plate is mounted to the process machine throat under the hopper. This holds a copper tube to direct a Teflon color injection line to the correct position directly over the screw. Permanently fixing the adaptor plate allows color to be introduced as closely as possible to the screw resulting in fewer wasted parts during color changes. Additionally, quick disconnect technology prevents color build up and allows quick, clean color changes without drips or spills that often occur when a tube is pulled from the throat for a color change.

The small diameter of this tube combined with the non-stick characteristics of Teflon allows new liquid to purge the previous color, minimizing waste and cross contamination during color changes.

Reliable Maguire technology, dedicated pumps, sealed drums and delivery tubes with shutoffs, and sealed throat adaptors and injection tubes--all features that make the Pump-In-A-Drum® an easy, accurate solution to your color metering needs.
